My First Month at 43 Clicks North
A single noun to describe the large complex roadmap that is it. And what a journey it’s been so far to discover all the routes.
To say I’ve only been with 43 a month is peculiar, I feel very much a part of the team. In fact, from walking into the office on November 1st I knew these were the cool kids that I wanted to sit with.
I was a blank slate, well, a little experience in organic, but definitely new to the industry. So day 1 I learnt the important bits; where the loos are, where the biscuit barrel and coffee is kept, then secondly I met the team. The first few days were mostly tying names to faces and faces to roles, each individual being a fountain of knowledge, and I was eager to soak it all up. I was then introduced to the lovely Gemma, I now understand why she holds the title ‘Queen of Social’! Not only does she know her stuff but she’s excited to learn too.
We began the journey with background knowledge, identifying clients and understanding them, who they are and what they want from us. Which led to delving into the good stuff and getting stuck in. I’m proudly able to say that I can confidently understand and analyse data, I’m able to put my ideas forward and execute them with confidence and reasoning, I can comprehend and fluently speak (pretty much) the language which the team and industry use. Which may I add is more difficult than it seems with the speed these folks speak at.
Enjoyment and Progression.
Actually enjoying your job is a large factor, but working alongside experts who want you and themselves to progress individually and as part of the team is a dream. 43 submerges you in a rich environment of experienced people, good vibes and hard graft. And that’s an unbeatable triple threat if you ask me.
What I’ve learnt is that it doesn't matter if you're the tortoise in the race, as long as you put one foot in front of the other you're progressing in your journey, travelling towards a sweet ending.
